OCEAN'S FOREST MUSEUM
Kelp Forest Space Design
Created with: Solidworks, Keyshot, Adobe Photoshop
After a trip to the Los Angeles Science Center, I was inspired to design an entire museum highlighting the beautiful kelp forest and the wildlife that inhabits these ecosystems. I began with creating a layout for the learning zones I wanted to highlight and decided on three sections: the interactive kelp shores, the kelp forest tank, and the depths of the ocean forest. I wanted to make sure people would be able to find their way through the zones easily, so including way finding throughout the museum was an important aspect that I wanted to keep consistent. In the final renderings, I wanted to showcase the inviting aspect of each zone and how people could not only feel as if they had taken a trip underwater, but also take home a more well-versed mindset of how the kelp forest ecosystem continues to be successful for the animals living there.
